It's common to see lots of keyword comments and DMs, sometimes on a video with 100k+ views, while your Amazon Associates report shows zero clicks and zero commissions. Before assuming your links aren't being attributed, check these four things in order.
Why don't comments and DMs turn into clicks?
Someone commenting the keyword and receiving a DM doesn't mean they clicked the Amazon link or made a qualifying purchase. There's naturally a big drop between comments, DMs sent, actual Amazon clicks and purchases.
Why don't my test purchases show up?
Don't test with personal, friend or family purchases. Amazon states commissions aren't paid on personal purchases, and purchases involving friends, relatives or associates may be considered ineligible. Amazon determines this on their end, so those test clicks and orders often never appear in the report.
Am I checking the right Store ID?
Amazon accounts can have multiple tracking IDs, and reporting can be filtered by individual ID. Make sure you're looking at the same Store ID (Amazon also calls this your Tracking ID or Associate Tag) that's connected inside Scaled Creator. You can see the connected ID by clicking the Amazon icon on your Accounts page.
How long does Amazon reporting take?
Amazon reporting isn't instant, unlike TikTok Shop. Amazon says most orders appear within about three hours, and the Earnings Report is only current through the previous day or until a product ships. Give it a day before assuming something is broken.
What if attribution still looks wrong?
If attribution still looks wrong after those four checks, we can verify your account individually. Email [email protected] with the email address you signed up for Scaled Creator with and a screenshot showing your Amazon Associates Store ID. We'll compare it against what's connected on our end to confirm your links are attributed to the correct account.
