When Product Links on Facebook is on, your product link shows on your Facebook videos. Under How should it show?, you choose Native Link on the Video or Link in the Caption. The right choice depends on whether you're in Facebook's Amazon Affiliate Partnership program.
In the program → Native Link on the Video
Not in the program → Link in the Caption
How do I turn on Product Links on Facebook?
Go to Post Settings and open Facebook.
Turn on Product Links on Facebook.
Under How should it show?, choose Native Link on the Video or Link in the Caption.
Click Update Settings.
What is Native Link on the Video?
If you're enrolled in Facebook's Amazon Affiliate Partnership program, your Amazon product shows as a Shop button or banner on the video, similar to a TikTok Shop tag, with your caption below it. When someone taps it, Facebook opens the product directly on supported devices.
This option is only for creators in the program. Facebook sets the eligibility rules and states that you need at least 5,000 followers to join.
Don't choose Native Link on the Video if you're not in the program. Without the Shop button, viewers only see the standard Amazon link in your caption. That link isn't a deep link, so it may not open the Amazon app, and you could miss commission.
Why does the Amazon link have to stay in my caption?
With Native Link on the Video, Facebook builds the Shop button from the standard Amazon link we place in your caption. This means:
The Amazon link can't be removed from the caption, and Amazon can't be turned off for a video. If Amazon was off for a video, we turn it back on.
It has to be the standard Amazon link, not a deep link, or Facebook may not recognize it.
You can still customize the caption with Use Custom Facebook Template, as long as {product_link} stays in it. To make the link less noticeable, put it at the very end, after {hashtags}.
What is Link in the Caption?
No program is needed. Your product link shows as a tappable link in the caption, and it's a deep link, so it can open the Amazon app directly. Which link shows depends on that video's settings. Here's which link shows on your Facebook posts.
Will my DMs still work?
Yes. Your DM automation keeps working with either option, but the default Facebook caption leaves out the "Comment {keyword}" prompt. Here's how to use a caption link and DMs together.
